The NSE will introduce the Closing Auction Session (CAS) framework in the equity derivatives segment from August 3, 2026. While market closing time will be extended by 10 minutes to 3:40 pm, the key change is the adoption of an auction-based mechanism to determine closing prices, aimed at improving price discovery and aligning cash and derivatives market settlements.
